About Lucy

Chic & fun illustrations inspired by stylish design, popular culture & mid century glamour

Since graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Illustration, Lucy has become one of the UK’s leading commercial illustrators.  She is influenced by mid century art and design, from the high levels of modernism and modern art, pop Art and pop culture to the beautiful children's artworks of M. Sasek and Maurice Sendak. Lucy loved the pre pop art illustrations of Andy Warhol long before she embarked on her own illustration career and it was the beautiful fashion line artwork of this period that inspired her as a student and indeed throughout her career as an illustrator.

Lucy's work is stylish and modern, with a hint of retro glamour. This visual blend lends itself to both artwork and products design, as well as to her established work in publishing, advertising and editorial markets. Over the years in the industry, Lucy has been delighted to illustrate international advertising campaigns and high profile book series. She has also recently embarked on a successful children's illustration career.

Most recently her inspiration has come from the very funny little people in her own life, including family holidays with her nephew as well as her own children who all prove to be an endless source of delight and inspiration. People watching is a huge source of help, and also very entertaining.

Her work has been published in the likes of You and Your Wedding, Tatler, Glamour Magazine, Boston Globe, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times, Sunday Express,The Daily Mail, Cosmopolitan NL. She has also enjoyed a varied career with book publishers. Most notably Penguin Books, Random House, Simon and Schuster, Harper Collins and many more.

Lucy has worked with a number of brands and high profile clients including Braun, Garnier, Avon, Surf, Olay, Carrefour, Boots Advantage Card, Kiwi Shoe Products to name a few.
